Dr. Nate Bennett

For more than 20 years, Nate Bennett has designed and delivered executive development programs to clients such as Lockheed Martin, GEICO and The General Electric Company. The Catherine W. and Edwin A. Wahlen Professor of Management at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Nate is academic advisor to the COO Circle, a group of more than 100 Chief Operating Officers from the world’s largest companies and most impactful non-profits.

His work has been published in academic journals such as the Academy of Management Review and the Journal of Applied Psychology, and he has published in many widely read resources for managers including the Harvard Business Review and Wall Street Journal. Nate is co-author of two books, “Riding Shotgun: The Role of the COO” and “Your Career Game: How Game Theory Can Help You Achieve Your Professional Goals.”

He is a frequent speaker and commentator in business press and has been invited to lecture in programs internationally at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Institut Commercial de Nancy, and Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires.

Nate received a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Applied Social Research from Tulane University. He earned his Ph.D. in Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
